I'm not quite sure what you mean by your proposed modifications. Would you be able to elaborate on Waypoint Platforms and Waypoint Enemies?
If you are creating new and original enemies, platforms and a checkpoint that work differently, or are artistically different than the existing ones, you should be good for full credit.
